The Third Guitar/The Soul Pleasers – Baby Don’t Cry

Baby Donít Cry is the archetypal deep funk sound. Itís the sharp horns, the James Brown-esque vocals, thundering bass and awesome drums ñ complete with AWESOME break..Lead singer Eddie Holloway wrote and recorded Baby Donít Cry in 1965 while a member of Miami-based R&B group The Soul Pleasers. Weíve included this original version on the flipside to the more well-known funk version recorded by his later band, The Third Guitar.
