Soulive – Doin Something EP

Freestyle Records continues with it’s highly acclaimed series of 12″ releases with an E.P.of remixes from New York based Jazz-Groove trio Soulive.

Collaborators on the remixes include Jurassic 5, The Beatnuts, DJ Spinna, Me’Shell Ndegeocello & Ekene Nwokoye. Soulive are Neal Evans, Eric Krasno and Alan Evans.

After releasing their debut “Turn it out” on Velour Recordings in 1999 they were signed to Blue Note Records.

Three albums followed “Doin’ Something” in 2001, “Next” in 2002 featuring collaborations with Black Thought ( The Roots ), Talib Kweli, Amel Larrieux & Dave Matthews and the acclaimed live recording “Soulive” in 2003.

Their next release is the “Turn it out Remixed” album scheduled for release on Freestyle Records in May 2004.

This album features remixes of their debut release with some musicians the band have worked or toured with in the past. Guests include DJ Spinna, Jurassic 5, DJ Krush, J-Live, Me’shell Ndegeocello, Ekene Nwokoye, The Beatnuts and many others. “Soulive are the best band I have ever seen”
