Def Harmonic – Embrace

Once in a while a hip hop outfit comes along that defies genre, challenges
stereotypes, and appeals to both ardent rap fans and eclectic music lovers
alike. Def Harmonic are just that. As their name suggests, the crew from
Milwaukee in the US of A embrace both the gritty urban style music of the
Def Jam legacy, whilst creating harmonious musical patterns that evoke
warmth, honesty and humour.

Everything in Def Harmonic is about paradox and balance, and the debut LP,”Embrace”, marks the joining of two sides of the same coin; a point where
the rawness and musical beauty of hip hop become one. The two main vocal
talents of the outfit, Lunaversol 9 and Jason Todd, provide both compliment
and contrast to each other. On some tracks, the pair could be mistaken for a
modern day Miles and Betty Davis partnership, at one in genius, vocal
madness and a spark that’s liable to set a forest a blaze!
