Frank Ferrer – Hallelujah
Batshit crazy Latin funk track that was originally released on Columbia’s INS label before also being released on Miami Mogul and close friend of James Brown, Henry Stone’s ‘ Blue Candle’ Label. ‘Hallelujah’ was clearly not a hit on either label as any pressing of the rare beast is going to set you back £500 plus and don’t sound great due to a bad pressing. AOE did a bit of cleaning and got their masters at Timmion cutting laboratory to do their thing and came away with the loudest pressing you’re ever going to manage of this beast, Watch Your Bassbins I’m Tellin’ Ya.
On the flip ’Jonny’s Theme’ a cool soundtracky number with cracking drums and a wonderfully intense structure, more complex than the a side in timing structure and featuring some nice Kes style flutes.
