The Holga was born in Hong Kong in 1982. It is a minimal and lo-tech medium format camera, using 120 film. The lens is plastic, which results in the Holga’s trademark soft focus and vignetting around the edges of the photos. The camera’s body has a tendency to leak light, resulting in strange and surreal light splashes across the images (a roll of tape is included to tape up the body if this effect is not to your taste). The Holga has a flash, can take multiple exposures and it is possible to modify the camera in several ways (described in the instructions booklet).
