With black and white illustrations throughout plus four suites of eight colour plates. Set in Albertina type and printed in two colours. Handsomely bound in quarter vellum over black boards with gilt ornament, scarlet endpapers and top edge gilt, clear plastic jacket – inspired by Fleming’s own design for a limited edition of ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ (Cape, 1963). Housed in a black cloth slip-case, lined in red suede, gilt-stamped with the arms of the Fleming family. Fine / as new, with the original New Book Information sheet [press release] loosely inserted. A comprehensive guide to the work of Ian Fleming by Jon Gilbert, an expert on the literary James Bond, covering everything from the first draft of “Casino Royale” in 1952 to editions still in print today.
