‘Lagos All Routes’ and its companion album ‘Lagos Chop Up’ collect together some of the most infectiously funky music ever made. In Nigerian pidgin English, ‘chop-up’ makes figurative reference to a bountiful feast. ‘Lagos All Routes’ refers to the fact that the music on this collection originates from various parts of Nigeria.

These two great collections are a must for any African/world music fan as they were the original Afro beat pioneers. It was these musicians who went on to influence countless others including the likes of Fela Kuti and Tony Allen amongst many others.
