Martin Luther – Rebel Soul Music

Nice hip hop/soul cut from Martin Luther — on his own Rebel Soul label, distributed as part of ABB’s fledgling soul line! Rhythm guitarist/vocalist ML has a little bit of the post-millenium Sly Stone feel, with a much tighter groove and one that’s clearly built from the hip hop era elements. He’s been playing with the Roots recently, too, and there’s definitely traces of that hard soul groove in the mix. It’s a nice couple of tracks – from a cat to keep an eye on!
