Zo! – Re:Definition

Welcome to the spot occupied by Michigan-based producer Lorenzo Ferguson a/k/a Zo! or the Musical Architect. This very talented musician claims the piano/keyboard as his primary instrument, but is self-taught on the bass guitar as well as the drums and most recently the guitar. All of these musical elements are molded together to form pieces that fall under no single particular genre of music. With a catalog that dates back to 2001, Zo! began to generate interest by completing and circulating five instrumental projects from 2001 through April of 2003. During that same period of time, he worked with such artists as Prophetix, Rubix, Athletic Mic League, and Slum Village. But he has created the most buzz with his most recent instrumental album entitled “Zo! Presents…Passion & Definition”. Released in July of 2004, this soulful 21-track offering showcases Zo! expanding creatively, playing all of the different instruments live. Collaborations with more artists such as Finale, S.U.N. and Tasherre D’Enajetic came during this time. Most recently he teamed with producer Waajeed of the Platinum Pied Pipers to co-produce and play keys on PPP’s lead 12″ single “Stay With Me” featuring vocalist Tiombe Lockhart
