Tonto is the name of the enormous synthesizer invented by Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff (Tonto’s Expanding Head Band founders), who later would go on to find immortality for being the brains behind Stevie Wonder’s 1st electronic albums: “Talking Book”, “Music Of My Mind” & “Innervisions”.
T.O.N.T.O. stands for The Original and New Timbral Orchestra due to its amazingly expansive symphonic sound.
Originally released in 1971 on Embryo as Tonto’s Expanding Head Band – “Zero Time”
1975 repress with the title change and alt. artwork.
Vinyl is unplayed.
Sleeve has small cut-out a 3rd of the way down at the opening side.
