POLAR PAIR V MADDSLINKY featuring MC KAROLINA ‘OVER MY HEAD’
A collaboration between Polar Pair (Israel) and Maddslinky aka Phuturistix (Manchester, England). A funky broken beat orientated tune featuring sung vocals from Karolina.
POLAR PAIR featuring TALISMAN ‘OUT OF SIGHT’
A more hip hop / funky electronic track with sung female vocals from Talisman (who is not a man). Check the bass on a loud soundsystem. Polar Pair are based in Israel (although they have both lived in London). They are involved in pushing the more creative forms of music from across the world in Israel through magazines, online, radio and club nights (they’re not all into Trance there!). The hook came when they and the British Council invited Tru Thoughts A&R Robert Luis to Israel in order to DJ and give a talk about running an independent label.
QUANTIC ‘MISHAPS HAPPENING (PRINS THOMAS EDIT)’
We first heard this when Gilles Peterson played it on his BBC radio show (although at the time it was being credited to Todd Terje). We finally managed to trace the Prins through fellow Norwegian and Tru Thoughts artist Espen Horne (Kinny & Horne) and secure a copy for ourselves. In the mean time the track was being hammered by Gilles to the point where in his sets it has become a track with crowd participation. Give a ‘shout’ between the “deh,deh de-de-dehs” if you didn’t know! This has been a hugely in demand record for us at Tru HQ.
NIROBI & BARAKAS ‘BUNGEE JUMP AGAINST RACISM (DIESLER MIX)’
Nirobi aka Robert Luis and Barakas aka Bonobo get the remix treatment from fellow Tru Thoughts artist Diesler (fresh from remixing Pest (Ninja Tune), Freddie Krugger and Plantlife). He adds some live horns and keeps the dancefloor feeling of the original, but with the Diesler twist.
THE QUANTIC SOUL ORCHESTRA ‘WALKING THROUGH TOMORROW (TM JUKE MIX)’
Originally released on the Shapes Yellow CD only compilation we have been inundated with requests to get it on vinyl, so here it is. TM Juke totally re-version’s the original QSO track from the ‘Stampede’ album.
