Little Ike / Earl Gaines – She Can Rock / How Do You Hear

Here’s a cool one – a raucous early soul rocker which will get the room moving, guaranteed. Not much is known of Issac ‘Little Ike’ Hamilton’ but it’s safe to assume he’d heard a few Little Richard records in his time. No bad thing, and though Ike mightn’t have had the whole act down, everything about this recording shows clearly why a lack of polish can sometimes be the strongest virtue!
