Another day, another Jazzman 12î. And just like our 45s, we donít compromise on quality. Itís incredible ñ and sad – that this wonderful song has been slept on since the ë70s when it was recorded. Quite simply, ëSimple Songí is a 100% guaranteed crowd pleaser at ANY club that enjoys uplifting music, wild dancing and exuberant soul. Itís surprising that a funky disco record like this wasnít borne from the coke-fuelled ëglamourí clubs of New York or Detroit, but in fact it came from darkest Tennessee. Presumably the locals didnít go for it cos of the lack of harmonica and banjo, so it failed to hit. Maybe thatís why the original 45 is so rare?

It took a big risk from Ian Wright ñ the UKís Number One Funk 45 Collector – who not so long ago took a gamble and shelled out $10 of cold hard cash to prize this hitherto unknown 45 from the ebay. It was he who brought Zebra to our attention, and now itís here for the dancers of the world to listen and enjoy.
