This awesome Esmond Edwards produced Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis session reads like a who who’s of 60’s jazz as he is joined by a 13-piece big band arranged by the mighty Oliver Nelson. This is the original version of “Stolen Moments” (here called “The Stolen Moment” and pre-dating the more famous Oliver Nelson recording by several months). Eric Dolphy is joined by: Roy Haynes, Richard Williams, Clark Terry and Bobby Bryant along with Nelson on alto. Not forgetting Rudy Van Gelder of course.
