Simphiwe Dana – Zandisile

Now this is def a highly recommended album! Aaron Jerome first heard Simphiwe on a DJ trip to South africa 3 years ago, and has been pestering djs and people to go and find her since. Patrick Forge is one Dj who has been showing support. She also will feature on Aaron’s forthcoming BBE album.

This is her debut album, she has produced another since but it is a south african only release.

Jazz meets electronica meets africa meets kwaito, a melting pot of styles, showing the afro-centric vibe that Erykah and Zap Mama seem to emulate so well- but Simphiwe is the real thing!  Have a listen.
