Capstone/ Uptown Felaz – I Don’t Know (Aaron Jerome Remix)/Brainstorm (Hint Remix)

The underground jazz/funk 7-inch from last year gets a double re-rub from two of the UKís most exciting, up-and-coming producers.

Bonobo and Quantic Soul Orchestra keys player, Simon ëCapstoneí Little, gets his soulful jazz nugget touched up for the í05 by remixer de jour, and top class producer in his own right, Aaron Jerome. The nu-jazz luminary adds his own trademark broken drum patterns to the original jam, and throws in sweeping strings, extra horn parts, and a stunning finale worthy of German uber producers Jazzanova! Itís no wonder that Aaron has been remixer of choice for the likes of Nitin Sawhney, Zap Mama and R2 records of late.

Relative old boy, the very lovely Mr J Hint (of Ninja Tune, Hombre and now Tru Thoughts fame) delivers an absolute blinder of a remix on the flip. The ëportakabin kingí reworks Hungarian funk outfit, The Uptown Felazí afro tinged ëBrainstormí into a dark and moody dance floor destroyer. This is very much the ëfutureboogieí sound of Hint, a mash up of bruk beat, afro/latin, two step and funk! A heavy hitter indeed.

With great reactions already from the likes of Kev Beadle, Frank S (Head To Toe) and the Co-Op and CD-R crews, this looks like being a big club banger all round!
